For a small order, Handwrytten, Simply Noted, Scribeless and Thankster publish prices between £1.99 and $3.75 a card, and most add postage on top. Monthly plans bring that under $2. MailMyCard costs more per card, writes with a real pen in India, and posts worldwide with tracking. Below are each company's own published prices and terms, checked on 1 October 2026, linked so you can check every cell.

We run MailMyCard, so read this as a comparison written by one of the five. We have tried to be fair: every competitor fact is quoted from that company's own page, and where a page did not say something, the table says "not published" rather than guessing.

How do the five services compare on price?

On published prices, the four US- and UK-facing services are much cheaper per card than MailMyCard. Their small-order prices run from £1.99 to $3.75, and plans bring them down to between $0.89 and $1.79 (£1.19 at Scribeless). MailMyCard starts at $14.99 for one card and falls to $9 at 100 cards in one order, plus tracked delivery.

Service Small order, per card Lowest published per card Postage
Handwrytten $3.75 retail $1.19 on the Agency plan ($2,499 a month) Extra, "billed at the current USPS rate"
Simply Noted $2.76, in a pack of 100 credits $0.89 a note on the Unlimited plan ($497 a month) Extra, $0.82 a card, shown separately
Scribeless £1.99 per item (1 to 499) £1.19 per item (5,000 to 9,999) Stamps at local rates: US £0.59, UK £0.91
Thankster $2.64 for a folded card, pay as you go $1.79 for a folded card on the XL plan Extra, $0.82 US first-class stamp
MailMyCard $14.99 (1 to 9 cards), $10 (10 to 99), $9 (100+) $3.49 a card at 5,000+ cards, plus a one-time $250 setup Tracked delivery on top: $3.76 to the US, $3.56 to the UK

A few things the table cannot show:

  • Handwrytten's business plans charge a monthly fee as well as the card price: Pro is $449 a month and $1.99 a card, down to Agency at $2,499 a month and $1.19 a card. Its consumer plans run from $100 a month for 24 cards (pricing). Its FAQ says single-card pricing "starts at $3.25", depending on the card (FAQ).
  • Simply Noted's pack of 100 folded cards totals $358.00 with postage, which its homepage calls "$3.58 per card all-in" (homepage).
  • Scribeless quotes in pounds by default, and its page also lists "Domestic postage included" among features while showing stamps as a separate option (pricing). Ask which applies to your quote.
  • Thankster's plans carry a small monthly prepay ($4.99 to $19.99) that its FAQ says "is credited back at the end of the month against orders sent" (FAQ).
  • MailMyCard's business prices start at $8.99 a card for a pilot of 50 and are agreed on a call. Delivery for business campaigns is quoted separately by destination (For business).

Which services write with a real pen?

Two of the four say plainly on their own sites that a robot holds a real pen: Handwrytten and Simply Noted. Scribeless says it retired its robots in 2019 for an "AI powered handwriting algorithm". Thankster does not say how its handwriting is put on paper. MailMyCard writes every card with a real pen.

Service Pen or other Minimum order Writing and posting time
Handwrytten "Handwriting robots that hold real pens" Not published "Within 1-2 business days", then US delivery "typically 2-7 business days" (FAQ)
Simply Noted "Robots hold a real ballpoint pen" "No minimums"; the smallest credit pack listed is 100 Can start "as fast as the same day"; USPS "typically delivers within 3-7 business days" (FAQ)
Scribeless "We don't use robots"; an "AI powered handwriting algorithm" since 2019. Pen or print: not published Not published (price tiers start at 1) "Most campaigns" in "1-2 business days" (homepage)
Thankster Not published. The homepage says "We print, stuff, stamp, seal, and mail for you"; plans list "system handwriting fonts" None for folded cards; 150 for other types (FAQ) "Usually mail within 1-2 business days"
MailMyCard A real pen 1 card Normally written and posted within 2 business days, then 3 to 15 days in the post by destination

If the pen matters to you, ask for a sample and run a thumb over the back of the card. A pen leaves a dent. A printer does not.

Which services send cards outside the US?

Handwrytten, Scribeless and Thankster all say they post abroad, at extra cost. Simply Noted's pages that we checked do not mention international sending. MailMyCard is the only one of the five that writes and posts from India, so every card is international unless it goes to an Indian address.

  • Handwrytten: "Canada and over 180 countries for the price of an international stamp, which is currently $1.70" (FAQ), plus a "10 cent per card surcharge for manual processing" (pricing).
  • Simply Noted: not published on its homepage, plans, FAQ or integrations pages.
  • Scribeless: "We send anywhere in the world" (homepage), with "facilities in the US, UK and Canada where we can use domestic stamps" (pricing). Rest-of-world stamps are £1.30.
  • Thankster: "Yes, for these, we use an international first-class stamp" (FAQ). The pricing page says "Additional postage for non-U.S. recipients" without giving the amount.
  • MailMyCard: posted from Bangalore with tracked delivery to most countries. Delivery takes 3 to 7 days within India, 6 to 12 days to the UAE and Singapore, 7 to 14 to the UK, Germany and France, and 8 to 15 to the US, Canada and Australia. Our mail time calculator turns those into dates.

That last point cuts both ways. To a US address, a US-based service will usually be faster: 2 to 7 business days in the post against our 8 to 15. To a list spread over ten countries, one sender with one price list and tracking on every card is simpler.

Which services connect to a CRM or shop?

All five connect to Zapier and offer an API. Beyond that, the lists differ, so check for the exact tool you use. The names below are the ones each company lists on its own site.

  • Handwrytten (homepage menu): Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, CDK/Fortellis, Claude, HubSpot, Integrately, Make, Salesforce, Shopify, SyncSpider, Tekion, Zapier and an API.
  • Simply Noted (integrations, homepage): Salesforce, Zapier, Shopify, a REST API and webhooks.
  • Scribeless (integrations): says "50+ integrations", including HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify, Attio, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Klaviyo, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Make, n8n and Zapier.
  • Thankster (FAQ): "Shopify, Infusionsoft, NationBuilder, and Zapier", Google Sheets through Zapier, and an API.
  • MailMyCard (developers): one-click connections for Shopify, WooCommerce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Attio, monday.com, Keap and Close; Stripe; a watched Google Sheet; Zapier, Make and n8n; a generic webhook; a REST API; and an MCP server for AI assistants.

How do you choose a handwritten card service?

Answer three questions in order: where your recipients live, how many cards you send a month, and whether a pen must write them. Most buyers can rule out two or three services on the first question alone. Then order samples from the two that are left and post one to yourself.

Three questions in boxes, each with two answers: where recipients live, how many cards a month, whether a pen must write
Most choices come down to where the cards go, how many, and whether the pen matters.

  1. Where do your recipients live? If they are nearly all in the US, a US-based service posts faster and uses a domestic stamp. If they are spread across countries, look for one that posts worldwide and says what it costs per country.
  2. How many cards a month? A monthly plan only pays back if you use it. On Handwrytten's Pro plan, the $449 monthly fee is the price of about 120 retail cards at $3.75. Simply Noted's $497 Unlimited plan, at $0.89 a note, needs roughly 270 cards a month before it beats the $2.76 price of its 100-card pack.
  3. Must a pen write it? If so, pick a service whose own site says a pen writes, and check a sample.

Then work out the real price per card: card, plus postage, plus any monthly fee divided by the cards you will actually send. Do the sum for your own volume, not the volume on the pricing page.

Whatever you choose, what you write matters more than who writes it. Our guide to handwritten notes in sales has 24 notes by deal stage, and our handwritten mail statistics page collects what the research says about mail that gets read.

Where does MailMyCard fit, and where does it not?

MailMyCard fits a business or a person sending cards to several countries, who wants a real pen and tracking on every card and does not want a monthly plan. It does not fit a US business sending hundreds of cards a month to US addresses on a tight budget: the services above are cheaper and faster for that.

Three things to know before you choose us:

  • Sign-up is invite only for now. MailMyCard is in a private preview: you can write and preview cards, and adding money to the wallet opens soon. You can ask for an invite from any page.
  • We write and post from India. Cards go from Bangalore, so even a card to a US address is an international letter. Tracking covers every card.
  • Business prices are agreed on a call. They start at $8.99 a card for a pilot of 50, and our floor is $3.49 a card at 5,000+ cards, plus a one-time $250 setup. Delivery is quoted by destination. The For business page has the full ladder.

How did we check these prices?

We opened each company's own pricing page, homepage, FAQ and integrations page on 1 October 2026 and copied the numbers as written, in the currency shown. We did not use review sites or price roundups. Prices change, so check before you buy. If you work at one of these companies and something here is wrong or out of date, write to us and we will correct it.

What we could not find, we marked "not published": Handwrytten's and Scribeless's minimum order, Simply Noted's international sending, Scribeless's and Thankster's writing method, and Thankster's postage amount outside the US. MailMyCard's figures come from our own price list on 1 October 2026; delivery prices are converted from rupees and shown in your currency on the site.
