Mailing a letter inside the United States usually takes one to five days with First-Class Mail, which USPS describes as "delivered in 1-5 days". A letter sent to another country takes longer, and it depends on the country. The table below shows the windows for cards we post from India.
What changes the time
Distance and weekends matter most. A letter posted late on a Friday may not move until Monday. A clear, machine-readable address helps too, because a letter that needs hand sorting loses days. Here is how to address an envelope.
Plan for the slow end of any range, not the fast end. For a birthday, post early.
Our delivery windows
We write a card with a real pen and post it from Bangalore, India. We hand it to the post within 3 business days of the order. After that, these are the windows our checkout shows, counted in days:
| To | Usually |
|---|---|
| India | 3 to 7 days |
| UAE, Singapore | 6 to 12 days |
| UK, Germany | 7 to 14 days |
| US, Canada, Australia | 8 to 15 days |
These are usual windows, not promises. Express is quicker to many countries; see shipping for what is offered where.
Find the date
Our delivery time calculator adds the writing days and turns the window into dates for any country. For a longer read, see how to send a postcard.
