customer birthday cards
customer birthday cards,
written by a real pen.
A customer birthday card works when it arrives on time, names the person and sells nothing. Here a pen writes each one in ink and we post it. Schedule a card for a key client and it repeats each year, or send them from your CRM or a list.
$5.15 a card, plus delivery.

How to send one that lands
Short, on time, and about them.
Allow for the post
A card is handed over within 3 business days, then travels. Schedules work the date out backwards for you.
Use their name
Write [Name] in the message and the pen writes their first name.
Sell nothing
No offer and no code. An offer turns a greeting into an advert.
Sign as a person
A first name, not a company. Upload a handwriting sample and it can be yours.
Ways to send them
One key client
A schedule holds one person and one date, and can repeat every year. It suits a short list you add by hand.
Every customer
Use a date-based workflow in HubSpot, or any tool that can post to a webhook on the day. You keep the dates; we write and post.
A monthly list
Upload a CSV of this month's birthdays, or add them to a watched Google Sheet.
- You write
- Happy birthday, [Name]. It has been a pleasure working with you this year. Have a lovely day.
- The pen writes
- Happy birthday, Priya. It has been a pleasure working with you this year. Have a lovely day.
What the evidence says
We found no study showing that handwritten cards raise retention.
- Direct mail to existing customers averaged a 6.3% response and £8.80 ROI, against 1% and £2.10 for cold mail. These are UK campaigns from 2023 to 2025, and they cover all mail, not handwriting. JICMAIL Response Rate Tracker 2026.
- A handwritten sticky note with a personal request roughly doubled survey returns: 76% against 36% in the first experiment. Garner 2005, summarised by the Behavioural Insights Team.
- Against us: thank-you postcards to 1,132 past donors drew a 19.3% response when handwritten and 18.7% when printed, which is no real difference. Adena, Huck and Neyse, Experimental Economics, 2025.
How to test it yourself
Split a list in two at random. Send cards to one half and nothing to the other, keeping everything else the same. After a few weeks, compare repeat orders, replies or gifts.

Questions
- Do you keep a birthday list for us?
- Only for schedules, one person at a time. For a large list, keep the dates in your CRM or sheet and send from there.
- Will it arrive on the day?
- We aim for it using the usual delivery window, but the post can run late. For a tight date, allow extra time.
- Can I send one to a customer abroad?
- Yes. We post worldwide from Bangalore, India. The window depends on the country.
