for developers

a direct mail API
with a pen on the other end.

A direct mail API lets your code send physical post. Save a card as a template, post a recipient's address, and a pen writes it. Keys are self-serve.

$5.15 a card, plus delivery.

How a call becomes a card

  1. Step 1

    Make a key

Under Developers in your dashboard. It is shown once and can be revoked.

  2. Step 2

    Save a template

In the dashboard or by API: design, hand, words and envelope.

  3. Step 3

    Post a recipient

One call is one order, paid from your wallet. Details fill the card's placeholders.

  4. Step 4

    Listen for events

Signed webhooks report each step, such as order.created and order.mailed.

POST /api/v1/templates/{id}/orders
Authorization: Bearer <key>
Idempotency-Key: <uuid>

{ "recipient": { "name": "Priya Nair",
"line1": "12 Marine Drive", "city": "Kochi",
"region": "KL", "postal": "682001", "country": "IN" },
  "details": { "product": "walnut desk" } }

What the API gives you

Enough to run it without a person watching.

  • Batches

Up to 100 recipients a call, with a result for each one.

  • Safe retries

Send an Idempotency-Key and a retry returns the same order, not a second card.

  • OpenAPI

Described at /api/v1/openapi.json for SDK generators and agents.

  • AI assistants

An MCP server at /api/mcp lets an assistant send cards with your key.

Every card can name its person

[Name] fills in on every route. A list, a Google Sheet, a webhook or the API can fill any other placeholder, so one card says something different to each person. A card still showing a bracket is refused, never written.

You write
Dear [Name], I hope the [Product] is treating you well.
The pen writes
Dear Priya, I hope the walnut desk is treating you well.

Price

Questions

Is this a postcard or print-and-mail API?
It is for handwritten 6x4 inch cards, with or without an envelope. It does not print postcards, letters or cheques.
Can each card have different words?
Yes. Each value in details fills the [placeholder] of the same name, and [Name] defaults to the recipient's first name. A card still showing a placeholder is refused with missing_details.
What happens when funds run out?
A single order returns 402. In a batch, the remaining items are refused with insufficient_funds and the rest stand.
Is there a test mode?
Test keys cannot place real orders, so try a small live batch to your own address before you roll out.
